About Wantate

Copenhagen-based R&B/soul producer, singer, and songwriter Wantate’s 2020 debut EP, Moments, told the story of the special moments in life. The EP was selected for multiple playlists including “Best Right Now” by Scandinavia’s most prominent music magazine GAFFA. Wantate’s soulful records contain both great emotions and soft rhythms. 

Music has always had an impact on Wantate’s life. In his early teens, he found a path to vulnerability in writing love poems and fell in love with the sound of a piano – an instrument he taught himself to play. Not long after, he gained confidence in his vocals, which he had kept hidden from the world. His keen sense of emotions has allowed his listeners to tap into moments of love. Wantate’s soulful records occupy a sound vulnerability and colorful soundscape. Through music, Wantate created his very own universe. And he still does today, writing and producing all his songs. Wantate primarily finds inspiration in the RNB and soul scene from the 90s, 00s, and today.

With two sold-out headline concerts and performances at Ideal Bar, VEGA, Spillestedet Stengade, Samsø Festival 2022, ALICE at Stairway, Byhaven (Pumpehuset), support for Zak Abel at Pumpehuset and more. Wantate has never been more ready to unfold his musical universe in front of an audience – bringing both the big emotions and the soft rhythms.
